ProCAARE Forum Initiates Thematic Discussions on Upcoming International AIDS Conference

Participants in SATELLIFE's ProCAARE discussion group are preparing for the upcoming conference on Home and Community Care for Persons Living with HIV/AIDS in Thailand by identifying relevant themes.

The Fifth International Conference on Home and Community Care for Persons Living with HIV/AIDS will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand on December 17-20, 2001. The theme of the conference is "The Power of Humanity" and it is being organized by the Thailand Red Cross Society, the World Health Organization and the Royal Thailand Government. In using a broad-based consultative approach before the conference, organizers are holding discussions through ProCAARE, a SATELLIFE-administered discussion forum on HIV/AIDS and related epidemics. These ongoing discussions are focusing on identifying relevant themes and issues to be addressed at the upcoming conference. ProCAARE will also provide a link to the conference in December with up-to-the-minute reports from key correspondents.
