Dear AMICOR and ProCOR friends,

The horror of the last days shocked all of us and it is not just an American tragedy, but it is a human being disaster. Certainly the directly affected people and their families merit our compassion and condolences. However they
were not just so many innocent people murdered by a small group of fool suicidal agents, the two towers that were destroyed, the airplanes crashed. Some values, dreams and illusions were also destroyed.

We are all shocked by the evidence that the evil is not just in our diseases classical categories or in unintentional injuries and accidents. We are all contaminated by angry, hate and sentiments of revenge. There was not a chemical or biological weapon, but a more potent, dangerous, invasive and insidious bomb was exploded. Our rationality was dominated by bad sentiments, and affective devils we have inside are now free.

We are all shocked by the evidence that the epidemiological chain is interlaced and longer than usually considered. We are all shocked by the evidence that are not just in the extreme of poverty the challenges to life and health, but in the other extreme too. Probably the variables we must measure are inequity and disequilibria instead of its very simple magnitude. We are all shocked by de evidence that not only economy is now global, but politics, good and bad things too.

Many symptoms we are progressively adapted to accept as the deterioration of human relationship, loss of old values and arts as medicine, domination and dependence, discrimination and lack of tolerance, now exploded.
We desperately need to reinforce friendship and mutual support of goodwill people. It is consoling to have you and to can share mutually not only science but our sentiments.

Sincerely
Aloyzio Achutti
