On behalf of the International Academy of Cardiology, it is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the 2nd International Congress on Heart Disease - New Trends in Research, Diagnosis and Treatment. The Congress will be held at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, USA, on July 21-24, 2001.

The Congress has been designed to provide an innovative and
comprehensive overview of the latest research developments in cardiovascular medicine, particularly in the areas of molecular biology, coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac surgery.

Over 600 abstracts have been selected for presentation at the meeting. These studies contain superb scientific material originating from laboratories in 54 countries. Papers will be presented in the form of plenary sessions, symposia and posters. Included in the program are 120 invited lectures to be delivered by the most distinguished cardiologists and scientists.
