"EFFECTIVE DRUG MANAGEMENT AND RATIONAL DRUG USE"

The Centre for Drug Management and Policy (CEDMAP) is an independent
training, research and consultancy centre offering professional services

to the healthcare community. The mission of CEDMAP is to provide
comprehensive training, research and consultancy services in all areas
related to drug management and policy in the pursuit of improved
healthcare delivery in developing countries. CEDMAP wishes to announce
offer of a 4 weeks international residential training course on
"Effective Drug Management and Rational Drug Use" that will take place
from October 1st to 26th, 2001 in Nairobi, Kenya. The course which is
targeted at doctors, pharmacists, nurses, pharmaceutical technologists
and healthcare administrators will cover relevant topics in drug
management and rational drug use such as essential drugs concept,
national drug policies and legislations, the drug management cycle, drug

selection, drug procurement, inventory management, quality assurance,
drug supply strategies, financing of drug supplies, rational drug use,
etc. This course already has confirmed participation of healthcare
professionals from several African countries and will be delivered by a
team of experts including an expert resource person from the Drug Action

Programme of the World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland. A
limited number of positions are still available and we invite interested

persons with full sponsorship to apply for these positions. . The full
cost of participation per person (tuition and full accommodation) is
