E-DRUG: Low Molecular Weight Heparins
E-DRUG: Low Molecular Weight Heparins
-------------------------------------
Dear colleagues,
We are faced here in Colombia with claims that there are significant
differences in efficacy and safety between low molecular weight heparins.
This seems to stem from a recent FDA announcement on the subject (?).
Although they do differ somewhat in pharmacokinetic and anticoagulant
profile (i.e, anti Xa activity), which in turn should give rise to specific
doses and dosing schedules, are they really not clinically interchangeable?
Thanks in advance,

[There is definitely a big difference in price - let's hope there is
also good evidence for a difference in efficacy!
What indication? What doses?
Any FDA watcher informed about this?
And then the question: is the difference cost-effective compared to
established essential drugs? WB]
