Sometimes it is useful to carefully listen to "authorities". Avery's 
Drug Treatment was recently re-edited and published by Speight and 
Holford on behalf of the ADIS Press - all have a reputation of being 
industry-friendly.

On Ketotifen I read page 1032: "Trials in adults have been disappointing
and, although more beneficial to children, absolute improvement in lung 
function is usually no more than slight. This, together with the long 
run-in period necessary and initial drowsiness, especially in older 
children and adults, has resulted in a lack of widespread acceptance 
of this agent".

The message seems loud and clear.
