PROCAARE: Epidemiology, Vietnam (02)
[See procaare archive 970513193353 - Mod.]
The group men who have sex with men (regardless of if they have sex with
women too) is constantly over-looked in most cases. I would recommend
you and anyone else working with hiv (in epidemics, prevention, care,
policy....) to take up discussions with authorities, NGO's UNAIDS
representatives and other relevant persons regarding men having sex with
men. In many African countries the official politics still is that "such
a thing does not exists in Africa, and if it does it is imported" (as if
of less value if imported....) but in counselling sessions more and
more women are concerned because their husbands have sex with men too.
