In response to Richard Laing's question about whether or not undergraduate
training can influence prescribing, there is some evidence that it can.
There has been a study done of graduates of Quebec medical schools that
shows that inappropriate prescribing of benzodiazepines varies depending on
the school of graduation. For those interested the reference is:

Monette J et al. Do medical education and practice characteristics predict
inappropriate prescribing of sedative-hypnotics for the elderly? Academic
Medicine 1994;69(October supplement):S10-S12.
