Indices: HPLC determination

Can anybody can help me in guiding the extraction of a lipophilic herbal
component from blood for HPLC determination.

I need to determine the single herbal component which is found to be
lipophilic in nature. Its HPLC method is also available. The problem is to
extract it from the blood for HPLC determination.
