Assessment of drug information centres

Related to my previous enquiry about DICs in Africa, I working with
Dexter Tagwireyi of DATIS in Zimbabwe on developing structure, process
and outcome indicators for a medicines/drug information service. These
would be used to monitor the operations of a medicines information
service and its development. We want to use them to review the
operations of DATIS but they could provide an objective method of
assessing other centres.

We don't want to reinvent the wheel and wonder if anyone else is aware
of such indicators having been developed in the past. We would be
grateful to hear of any work in this regard. Please e-mail me on
dball@hsc.kuniv.edu.kw. The indicators will be circulated on INDICES for
comments and national centres which have been identified through the
earlier mailings will be asked to complete them and give feedback.

Regards

Douglas Ball
