E-LEK, Electronic discussion group on Essential Drugs in Russian

SATELLIFE and the World Health Organization/Essential Drugs and Medicines
Policy Department are collaborating to create a communication and
information network in Russian speaking countries called E-LEK. This network
will join existing networks: E-Drug (English), E-Farmacos(Spanish), E-Med
(French), India-Drug, and INDICES (Drug Information Centres).

The goal of E-LEK is to provide a forum for dialogue and exchange of vital
information among health care professionals on the provision and use of
Essential Medicines in Russian speaking countries. Russian-speaking clinical
and public health practitioners, including pharmacists, physicians, nurses,
policy makers, program managers, and researchers, are invited to participate
in E-LEK. Discussions will cover a broad range of topics such as rational
prescription, access to drugs, financing, national drug policies, quality
assurance, and treatment guidelines.

E-LEK will enable health professionals to easily communicate with each other
in Russian using simple email messages. To maintain an active interaction,
Russian-speaking expert moderators will stimulate and facilitate discussion.
All messages are archived on the discussion group Web site at
