Indices: Pralidoxime

Dear colleagues,

I wish to get information on PAM (Pralidoxime).
The drug which is quite costly is normally used along with atropine, in
cases of organophosphorus poisoning where the patient has been discovered
quickly and brought for medical attention. However, the drug is used only
for 48 hrs. Most books also site the same. However, Martindale suggests
that the drug can be used upto 5days in cases of severe poisoning. I wish
to know if any studies have been done in this regard. Will use of PAM be
helpful even after the stipulated 48 hrs? If so, in what category of
patients?

I would be helpful if you reply directly to me at the following mail:
geeta_pradeep@hotmail.com (please copy indices too, thanks ed.)

Thanks,

Geeta Pradeep
