Dear Chee:

The Aminoglycosides are administered intravenously over 15-30
minutes. If large single daily doses are prescribed, it is reasonable to
extend the infusion to 30-60 minutes to diminish the theoretic risk of a
rapid rise in serum concentration that might precipitate neuromuscular
blockade. (Mandell, Douglas and Bennett's
