Dear Professor Shoukov,

Would it not be a good idea- in close collaboration with Dr.Harper -
to organize a one/two-day symposium in Moscow and draft a guideline
on analgesics and pain-relief in general, both as OTC problem and as
an hospital (anaesthesia) issue? There are a number of excellent pain
centres in Western university hospitals and it would not be to find a
number of knowledgeable experts. Perhaps something for WHO/EURO? This
is a much neglected issue in the whole of Eastern Europe and there
are many misplaced opinions about proper anaesthetic practice.
