INDICES> Metamizole in your country? (3)
-----------------------------------------------

Dear Natalia,

Metamizole as you know is an excellent analgesic with spasmolytic
properties having little influence on renal perfusion and could
therefore be given in patients with moderately impaired renal
function. The incidence of agranulocytosis is not exactly known
and the numbers differ( 1:100000 to 1. 500000). We use it in our
hosptital and doing a WBC-count after one week of therapy is
recommendable.

Best greetings to you from Germany

Anton

[Other sources say the incidence is much higher... The injectable form
also produces
shock in 1:500-1000 cases. WB]
