INDICES> Identification of Streptoquin
--------------------------------------------------

Dear members:

We have been asked to identify "Streptoquin" recently obtained in Egypt, and
used by a patient admitted to one of our local hospitals. Unfortunately, I
have no other details (e.g. dosage form, strength, indication).

I have been unable to locate information on this product in texts or
databases except for a reference found from a Google search which cites
Holiday Which?
(http://sub.which.net/holiday/reports/may2000ho140t143/02right.html), and
which yields the following description:

"...streptoquin a rather nasty antibiotic combination that is largely
ineffective against diarrhoea and has been banned or fallen from use in many
countries"

Your help in identifying this product would be very much appreciated.

Please reply to webb@dpic.bc.ca

with thanks,
