INDICES> Treatment of Tuberculosis of the larynx?
-------------------------------------------------
Dear All,
RE: HOARSE VOICE IN HIV DISEASE
It seems, in HIV disease, there is tuberculosis of the trachea and
larynx, in general.
After a course of anti-Tuberculosis drugs, a hoarse voice, which was
troubling an HIV positive patient cleared; in about 2 weeks.
Have you observed such a happening?
Would the treatment regimen for Tuberculosis of the larynx; if it
happens alone, without affecting the lung tissue below, require
similar treatment as tuberculosis that affects the
lung tissue below?
The patient was given the anti-tuberculosis drugs on a treatment trial.
And there was no proved tuberculosis, before initiating the
trial.
Any comments about possible tuberculosis of the larynx and its treatment?
Sincerely,
George Kibumba, MPS(Uganda).
