INDICES> Topical Cidofovir
--------------------------
We have a HIV patient at our hospital with a genital herpes infection
resistant to both acyclovir and foscarnet treatment. Cidofovir might be an
alternative, so we would like to ask if anyone could supply information on
the formulation of a topical preparation of cidofovir (ca 1% gel or cream)
from a sterile solution of 75 mg/ml. Is propylene glycol a necessary
ingredient of the vehicle? Could Locobase be used as a vehicle? Or K-Y
lubricating jelly?
Thanks in advance
