INDICES> dexamethasone injection / alternative (cont)
----------------------------------------------------
Dear all,
I have no alternative. But a suggestion---since high strength, and large
volume dexamethasone injection (20 mg / ml, 5 ml) was discontinued. What
was the reason for discontuing that product? Assist me.
As for the use of lots of 4 mg / ml--2 ml ampoules, when large doses are
needed, contacting the supplier to make a bigger pack of that strength
would be helpful? But ampoules contain no preservatives, so the number
of larger packs should correspond to the number of cases which need very
high doses of dexamethasone, by injection. To avoid wastage, ampoules
being single dose units.
Sincerely,
George Kibumba, MPS(Uganda).
