Dear Lakshmi

In Pakistan we also have  plenty of iodised salt. I believe as Dr Leo has
pointed out that there is low quantity of iodine in the water obtained from
mountainous rivers and streams as in Pakistan and India.Our National Institute
of Health conducted a few surveys that should iodine defficiency in the northern
part of the country. And therefore, the rationality lies in the use of iodine in
endemic areas.
