Dear Ayesha

In South Africa the government has dropped multi-vitamine syrups and
tablets from the Essential Drugs List, but individual vitamins in
therapeutic dosages are available for treatment of specific hypovitaminosis.

There is some debate as to whether multivitamine preparations should be made
available to chronic AIDS and malnutrition patients.

So the answer on your question probably depends on the indication for the
vitamin preparation.
