INDICES> Substitution of fosinopril with captopril
--------------------------------------------------
Dear All,
In order to bring our national formulary into line with the WHO
Essential Drug list (and realise significant cost savings) we are
replacing the ACE Inhibitor Fosinopril (10 and 20mg) with Captopril 25mg
tabs. I want to make this transfer as simple as possible and would like
to ask if anyone else out there has had experience with these drugs and
their substitution.
A large percentage of our patients are taking Fosinopril twice a day
(which reduces any compliance benifits of Fosinopril anyway) and am
hoping? to make a simple protocol where if a patient is taking say
Fosinopril 10mg daily they are switched across to Captopril 12.5mg bid?
Thanking you for your assistance
