INDICES> Setting up a Drug Information Centre (4)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Kate Kikule and Indices
Hi there! I wish you good health, success and happines for the new
millenium.
Kate, I have have seen your request for seytting up drug information
centres. I
have been working in a drug information centre in a developing country,
Zimbabwe
for about 12 years.
Please find attached a write up on Requirements for
establishing drug information centres in developing countries which I
prepared
last year and used it for training in drug information to participants in a
DSE/WHO meeting held in Berlin. Of course you will have to choose what you
need
from the listed requirements depending on your resources, but you have to
take
into account, the expansion of your centre. Hopefully the article will help
you.
You can also read Chapter 30 which I wrote in collaboration with Dr. Keith
Johnson (USP Pharmacopoiea) on Drug and Therapeutics Information published
in
the "Managing Drug Supply Manual of Management Sciences for Health in
collaboration with WHO, Kumarian Press, 19997", which I believe you have.
If you have other issues conerning drug information which you would like to
ask
please feel free to do so.
Regards,
Dr. OMJ Kasilo (BPharm, Pharm D, Certificates of Clinical
Pharmacology and
Toxicology, PhD)
