INDICES> Fansidar resistance

Fansidar resistance seems to be becoming more of a problem in Africa. The
Botswana authorities no longer favour Fansidar on this account.

Stat doses and simple regimes increase compliance, and you might want to
consider mefloquine 250mg three stat with another two the next morning.
Since a generic became available in South Africa the price has plummeted.
Should you wish I can point you towards African suppliers. I have used the
regime myself to good effect.

Our other favoured regime is to combine quinine with seven days of
doxycycline, but then one is back to the compliance problem, and perhaps
promotion of doxycycline resistance.
