Dear David,

For masking the bitter taste of quinine hydrochloride solution, it is
reported that cocoa syrup was the most successful.  Further ideas proposed
include:
doubling the flavour concentration, increasing the sweetness (sugar
content), adding sodium chloride, adding excess citric acid to
fruit-flavoured syrups and increasing viscosity of solutions. (Ref:
Pharmaceutical Codex)
