Methocarbamol is not on our Essential Drugs List (EDL) in Nigeria. The
Committee members did not find any convincing evidence that it was a better
centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant than the benzodiazepines or
orphenadrine. Since the benzodiazepines have other indications orphenadrine
was retained as the only skeletal muscle antispasmodic on our EDL.
