I agree with Mr Bhaskaran. Practically all State Drug Controllers are parties to the mess on FDCs.
There has to be rationality in our decisions. For example, FDCs containing Carbidopa + Levodopa, anti-TB drugs forming a part of the DOTS program, anti-retroviral drugs are rational but combination of Paracetamol + Ibuprofen, to my mind, cannot be considered rational. I think the best guide is the WHO List of Essential Medicines.
