Expiry date on Syringes in India (7)
*****************
Forwarded by Dr. Mathur
Dear Dr. Anil,
INFORMATION COURTESY Dr. Pradeep Aggarwal USA
In continuation of my letter I wish to add the following:
1. The sterile syringes do have an expiration date.
2.iv flushes contain drugs too have an expiration data eg.The heparin flush prepared by MEDEFIL,INC.,ILLINOIS 60139 has a shelf life of 2 years. Any other packed syringe has to have an expiration dating based on the stability data of that particular drug and is determined by the manufacturer(based on the stability data).
3. All products which are sterile have to have a expiry data based on the company's stability information.
4. Of non-sterile plastic material-there is no expiry data, once put in a sterile cover it must have a expiry date.
Sincerely,
V.S.Mathur. MD, D.Phil (Oxon.)
