I-Pill a morning after oral contraceptive (14)
**********************************************
Dear All,
I do not understand whether ethical or unethical how the advertisement "Pill a morning after oral contraceptive" is justified. It is simply a form of direct-to-consumer advertising which in the western world is acquiring the name of direct-to-consumer information. By this way the manufacturers are promoting the product according to the theory of planned behavior i.e. a positive attitude regarding a product may lead to favorable behavior and increased intention to use that product.
In this context I simply endorse the views of Dr Usha Gupta i.e. of educational outreach to the consumer. Still in today?s world Consumer is the King and in India where a large chunk of population is paying out-of-pocket, this consumer advocacy will reap the benefits.
Although still considered to be hypothetical in the medical world but the unnerving concept of pharmageddon is in the air.
