I-Pill a morning after oral contraceptive (10)
*********************************************
Dear All,
I agree with the people who have advocated the restricted and judicious use of emergency contraceptive pills. It is extremely worrisome that the pill is becoming popular and is at verge of misuse among the teenager to prevent pregnancies. There are few strategies we
healthcare professionals should employ which ensures more rational use of emergency contraception pills. The advertisements should not be aired on television channels (even it is shown in ethical manner) as this may have a mass appeal and sometimes can be catchy to the teenagers, as the advertisement does not make common people aware with
the risks of the pills. It should be advertised emphasizing every pros and cons of the pill and should be only done through healthcare channels. The pharmacists should be vigilant in dispensing such pills and make it mandatory for the patients to produce the authentic
prescription and the pharmacists should either retain the prescription or embark a stamp on the prescription: Do Not Refill. By employing few steps we can be surer about the judicious use of I- Pill or other Emergency Contraceptive Pills.
