Price control for 'Branded Generic' medicines (5)
*********************************************************
Business logic for the firms to produce branded generic medicines in
addition to their'brand' product -
Main reason is to have more market share for the same medicines - more money.
The company has all the know-how to manufacure the medicine, they have the raw material, they just have to manufacute the medicines through their machine and give it to superstockist. Company does not have to bother about marketing of branded generic. It is either the superstockist or the retailer who will push the product in the market.
As you have rightly mentioned people who can not afford the 'brand product' will have the company's 'branded generic' product. People with little knowledge will be happy to read that it is being manufactured by a good company.
Best wishes,
