Drug eluting and bare metal stents in India (1)
*************************************************
Dear Esteemed members
I am particularly keen to understand the utilization/implantation procedure volumes of bare metal (BMS) and drug eluting stents (DES) in India. I am particularly interested to know what members feel about the use of indigenously manufactured stents, which from research I have done, seems to show a split between members of the interventional cardiology community having reservations on the products marketed by the likes of EuroCor, Sahajanand etc and positive feedback on the quality, safety and efficacy of
products like Infinnium etc in comparison to Cypher and Taxus stents. Can any member enlighten me with their views on that topic plus where might I obtain data on total PCI procedures (government collated data), registry data pertaining to BMS and DES implants and total BMS implant and DES implant stats. My interest lies in understanding the views of the interventional cardiology community in India on this fascinating topic for a publication I am preparing/updating.
Yours truly
