Dear Sir,
Each tablet is manufactured as per their company protocol. Some adopt fine grinding techniques .Some use excipients which give prolonged action. Some add another drug combination for synergistic action. Some add bioavailability enhancer and some tablets do not contain the desired drug in exact quantities due to inferior mixing in a particular batch. However, generally even scientific observer will not give details of manufacturer, but study their ability or bioavailability factors. Their report never contains names of manufacturers to avoid legal defamation suits. Thus, some brands can be superior to others but very much expensive (as there is no real control on prices due to some special additions). Whereas others are readily available as plain drugs.


The net result is Indian markets where a drug prices are minimum in the world market-sometimes nearly 50-100 times lower when compared to the contemporary tablets in Europe and USA. In such cases some lacuna can exist.

However, the quality manufacturers of essential medicines are at par with rest of the world and meet international specifications.
