Self Medication of Antibiotics In India (4)

This is a very serious and a long standing problem in our country. I think the answer is to make the pharmacy students aware of the dangers of such self medication. One of their near ones can get XDR TB in this day and age. -- will this awareness make them stop?
   
 Can?t we lobby for legislation to make over the counter sale of antibiotic a crime - Will the Medical council do something?
   
 Do the public know that they are being given potentially dangerous drugs as OTC? Will awareness regulate use?
   
Lastly, there is the money consideration. Will Medicare ever become affordable for the poor?
   
Is there something India Drug can do to address these problems? - At least lobby for legislation??
