Dear members,
The association of physician and pharmacist in hospital setting is very important for reporting of ADRs and preventing medication errors. In the West, number of pharmacists undergo training in bioethics and this additional qualification makes them an important member of hospital system for preventing unethical practices. In the medical stores it is important to have only pharmacists to dispense medicines as is done in the West, but does India have enough of them? And a low salary would be a big deterrent for such employment.  For India a different mechanism will have to be worked out with regard to retail shops.
