Dear members,
Drs Lakshmi and Sampada have rightly pointed to the lacunae in our present system Vis a Vis drug information. Somehow, in our country, the pharmacist remains merely a medicine seller and a medical doctor, a prescriber. There is in fact so much a community pharmacist can do. Just like the pharmacy curriculum does not give much emphasis on clinical training and exposure to hospitals, the exposure to community for students in medicine also does not go beyond National Health Programmes and some field visits conducted by P & SM departments. We need to change that. I am sure these lacunae can be filled by collective sharing of know how as well as responsibly by both and of course (as Dr Lakshmi rightly pointed out), a concerted approach by a committed persons.
