CD based interactive software to detect Drug-Drug Interactions
*************************************************************

In Maharashtra, the State Pharmacy Council has set up a Drug Information Centre (DIC) here, with the aim helping doctors & pharmacists in getting in-depth and focused Information and to help hospitals in monitoring adverse drug reactions (ADRs) by using powerful medical data base, thus improving patient compliance.

DIC welcomes the queries on: (FREE SERVICE)
1. Drug or it's Product Information/Identification
2. Contraindications/Safety
3. Adverse Drug Reactions/Drug Interactions
4. Efficacy/Treatment/Choice of drug
5. Pregnancy/Lactation/Pediatrics
6. Drug Profile/Indications/Dosage
7. Toxicology

Information furnished by DIC has been fully authentic and retrieved mainly from internationally reputed database (Micromedex's Drugdex, USA) and it is delivered through any desired mode of communication. Drugs related queries are sent to us by email, phone or post or in person and we respond to it immediately.
We have recently created our own indigenous CD based interactive software to detect Drug-Drug Interactions in any given prescription to be dispensed by the pharmacist.
Five therapeutic systems (Antihypertensive, antidiabetic, antianginals, lipid lowering, antibiotics) have been covered in this program. In this easy-to-use software (CD) thousands of brands from Indian market with corresponding generic drug names are loaded in computer system as a database from which interaction message appears on screen, once prescription entry is made.

1. Enter Prescription By Brand/Generic Names in DICP
2. Just Click On GENERATE INTERACTIONS button
3. All possible Drug Interactions in this Rx will appear on Screen?..
RED: Hazardous, major
BLUE: Moderate in severity
GREEN : Clinically Not Significant

Part-II of this CD to be launched in next 2 months will involve two major systems: drugs used to treat HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and checking the interactions for these medicines will be our contribution to of national pharmacovigilance program, since many ADRs can be avoided at the first step itself. CD has been granted a copyright registration number by Copyright Office of Govt.of India too. Cost of such valuable CD is only RS.750/- (You will obtain a official payment receipt for the same from council)
