Unnecessary wasteage of medicines (7)
*****************************************
Dear All,
The wastage of medicines in our society and system is very common. We
buy medicines and often they get expired at home. We could have
donated if not used. Perhaps no one thinks. The wastage at doctor's
clinic is too common. They get plenty of free physician samples. I am
sure many get expired and thrown later, forget about proper
destruction.
Coming to health system, the shortage or unavailability are often
reported. Perhaps two good systems being followed in Tamil Nadu and
Delhi have reasonably solved the problem, if not fully. The Tamil Nadu
system of Drug Procurement, Distribution and Use, have been accepted as
one of the role model of drug mangement.
Regards and Happy Deepavali.
