Medicine prices of few generics to decrease(2)
**********************************************

Dear All,

While the move by Govt. and the pharmaceuticals to cap margins for generics is welcome, yet a sizeable portion of medicines sold to our patients are not generics. The pharma industry also should consider cutting down the prices of medicines by minimising overheads, like for example spending lesser on promotional campaigns, gifts to prescribers, sponsoring local and foreign trips for the prescribers and many other such subtle as well as overt promotional gimmicks that ultimately add to the consumers' burden.

But who will bell the cat?
