Patterns of drug utilization in India

Thank you very much Sir for making me a part of this group. After being part 
of all the discussions so far, I am begining to feel that more than new 
medicines we need proper utilization of the existing ones. I realised the 
research we were concentrating on was rather elitist, although it is 
undoubtedly necessary for moving beyond the existing information. All the 
same I want to know much more now.

I would like to know the drug utilization patterns in the entire country 
with an emphasis on the situation in the remote areas. The specific things 
that I want to know are:

1. What was the actual need (quantity wise requirement for essential drugs 
and vaccines) and how much of the need was taken care of?
2. Where in the demand and supply chain were evidences of unaccountability?
3. How can we improve the demand supply ratio? Could we set up some 
benchmarks for the same?

Sir, if you could direct me to some report which could give me all the 
required information, then I will go through it.
