Teaching Pharmacology and Therapeutics (29)
**********
Dear Pranav,
Internship is the period designed to acquire clinical
skills, provided interns pay attention to patient care
and are available in the wards. Since the post
graduate entrance examination is soon after
internship, most are busy preparing for exam during
this period as their future is dependent on it.
However, those who get admission would acquire the
necessary skills in their speciality during 3 years of
post graduation. they donot need an extension in their
tenure.
My suggestion for house job is for those who do not
make it in the entrance exam and take up jobs
/practice. For them 6 months clinical exposure as a
house officer is certainly going to make their
practice/job performance much better and also give
them some idea about the therapeutics.
