Dear all,

Centchroman (SAHELI) is a non steroidal contraceptive developed by CDRI,Lucknow. As the books state, it is far more better contraceptive than combined OCPs because it is devoid of any unacceptable side effect of steroids. Then, what are the reasons for the promotion of combined pills by Govt. of India (note that MALA-N is available free of cost at government centers) and ignorance of a novel molecule like CENTCHROMAN?
