Teaching Pharmacology and Therapeutics - correction(15)
***********
Please note the addition of "No" before "free lunch culture" in the last line of the message below which was sent out yesterday.
There is no doubt that some pharmacologists and clinicians are well versed
with the concept of rational prescribing and essential medicines and their
implications. But still many are not aware even with these terminologies. It
is ironical, that a person who knows the importance of evidence-based
medicine also does not want to practice it in real life. They do not develop
skills to find, critically appraise and act on evidence in health and social
care. It is found that clinicians do not give importance to learn even
through CMEs which were earlier started by Indian Medical Association. They
prefer to be dictated by MRs and feel pleased to accept financial incentives
by their pharmaceutical industry. There is strong need of "No free lunch
culture" and social obligation.
