Orphan diseases/Designated drug court
***********

Dear All,

I had raised four issues for inclusion in the proposed Pharmaceutical Policy which are:

a.. The concepts of EML, DTG & RUM require to be incorporated in the course curriculum of Medical, Pharmacy & Nursing.
b.. An effective mechanism should be framed to curb unethical promotion of Medicines.
c.. More stress requires to be given on research on orphan diseases.
d.. Arrange for designated court for drug cases for quick disposal.

Though there were no direct responses to this issues, incidentally Dr. Pranav, Sunita Mittal, Manjula Dutta, Dr. Nusrat, A. Banerjee & Manjiri Gharat are also equally concerned about "unethical promotion of drugs' and "inadequate course content of health care providers", as expressed by their communications.

But the issues as I mentioned at point c & d, which are:

c. More stress requires to be given on research on orphan diseases.
d. Arrange for designated court for drug cases for quick disposal.

are not being discussed. So, I again appeal to you all to give input regarding these two issues.

With best regards.
