Dear Sir,

Thanks for your mail.

Sir, will it be possible to extend the scope of this society to rational use 
of medical devices as well.

More specifically, drug eluting stents(sirolimus and paclitaxel eluting 
stents) are on  our mind, when we say medical devices. These stents are now 
the mainstsay of percutaneous coronary intervention and have demonstrated 
superiority over bare metal stents in patients with obstructive coronary 
artery diseases. The cost of these stents is, however, a major 
consideration. If we could have indigenous drug eluting stents substantiated 
with hard core data about their efficacy and safety, we feel it would be of 
great benefit to the patients and the national resources.

Sir, please let us know if this issue can be considered.
