Dear Mr. Lakshmanan,

The Ph. D. programmes are usually not like fixed courses. These are research programmes. The study is conducted to bridge the knowledge base between what is available or known to what should be (hypothesis).

There are many institutions who have schemes for Ph. D. Programmes for external candidates. What is normally necessary is to talk to the instiituions and find out a faculty as your guide.
