[Mr. Amar, it is important that your wife consult her physician on this matter too...Moderator]

Dear Mr. Amar,
This in reference to your enquiry regarding the use of Nimesulide and Bidel
by your wife.
The available case reports on the use of Nimesulide indicate the occurence
of adverse effects of Nimesulide in late preganacy stages. However, no data is available for nimesulide teratogenicity in early pregnancy stages. Looking into the reports, it appears that Nimesulide is unlikely to cause harm in the early pregnacy {and that too at very low dose i.e.
4 tabs of 100mg}.
I will be able to forward you the reports, if you so desire. The case
report in question demonstrates that if nimesulide is used in late pregnacy
(27th week) for a long period of time it can lead to oligohydramnios in
foetus. Further, there are reports showing end stage renal failure in a
neonate born to mother who received nimesulide as a tocolytic in late preganacy (26th to 32nd week). What is important to note here is that these reports are in late preganacy stage. The source of this information is from established references Martindale, 33rd Ed and the database Reprorisk.
On the use of Bidel if you could please let us know its composition, we can
get the information.
I hope you find these points useful and please do not hesitate to write back
to us if you have any more queries.
Thanks,
Ms. Sukhpreet
