[india-drug] Lignocaine + Paracetamol

Hello Dr Mrs Patvardhan,

Thanks for the information that you gave. I checked the website you
suggested as well as your website. I did get a list of banned and licensed
drugs and combination. But, that did not answer the query i am having.

My specific question is -
One medicine available at the hospital where i work is Mercin 75. The
constituents of this injection supplied as a 30 ml vial for injection is
Paracetamol IP 75mg, Lignocaine HCl IP 1%&, Benzyl Alcohol IP 2% and
Propylene Glycol IP QS per ml. I want to know whether this is an allowed
drug preparation. If so, what is the rationale of Lignocaine in the
combination?
The manufacturer Merlin Pharma (P) Ltd, gives the address of their factory
as: G-3/10, MIDC, Tarapur, MS and that of corporate office as: 42,
Shantinath Shopping Center, SV road, Malad(W), Mumbai -400064. The license
number they have quoted is 1031.
