Hello:
I am located in NYC and am a student/advocate studying pharmaceuticals and drug development. My particular area's interest are in animal models and how drug-drug, drug-herbal interactions are determined from compound development. Indian pharmaceutical regulatory agencies vary in comparision the US NIH/FDA and animal models are created on a case by case basis and there are some models with similarities (such as SCID mouse), But I need specific references to animal models for testing of Liver Enzymes CYP3A4 and the preferred vaccine primate models.
I'm writing a paper for school on drug development and regulatory practices and would like to fully understand what animal models can and can not explain about a drug's safety and efficacy from an international perspective. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
