Dear Aggarwal,
I agree with you that rofecoxib may still be available in India. Unlike in
the developed world where the drug withdrawal from the market is immediately
followed up with recall of supplies from consumers and the dealers, in
India, this normally does not take place. Still, the manufacturers stop
producing the product and the supply stops in due couse. It is not the
correct way, however, this is the way it works.
